‘Our connection goes beyond trade’: Belgian PM De Wever recalls historic India-Belgium relations

Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever is in India for a three-day official visit from September 2 to 4 at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The visit marks De Wever’s first trip to India as Prime Minister and the first visit by a Belgian PM to India in nearly two decades. Defence, trade, investment, technology and connectivity are expected to feature prominently in discussions. De Wever is accompanied by Belgium’s Defence and Foreign Trade Minister Theo Francken and a high-level delegation of officials and business leaders, including representatives from the Belgian defence industry.
