Orunodoi 3.0: Assam to give Rs 1,250 monthly aid to women

Guwahati: The BJP government in Assam on Saturday relaunched its flagship Orunodoi welfare scheme, unveiling an upgraded version that will not only provide Rs 1,250 a month to women but also enable beneficiaries to access interest-free advances and bank loans against future payouts.

Launching Orunodoi 3.0 in Guwahati, chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the government is working on a mechanism that would allow beneficiaries to draw up to Rs 15,000 interest-free in advance, with the amount adjusted against future monthly instalments.
