Central Railway’s chief spokesperson, Swapnil Nila, highlighted the critical role of the RPF in safeguarding railway assets, stations, and passengers. A recent incident on November 7, 2024, demonstrated the RPF’s dedication. RPF officers Ishwar Chand Jat and R K Tripathi, while patrolling Khandwa station, noticed a young boy sitting alone on platform 4/5. Upon counselling, they found that the boy, named Sumit, had a phone number tattooed on his right arm. When they contacted the number, Sumit’s brother informed them that Sumit suffers from amnesia. After a medical evaluation, the child was placed in Navjeevan Balgrih’s care, with ChildLine representatives assisting until Sumit’s brother could arrive to take him home.
