One killed as train derails in Odisha

The deceased was identified as 22-year-old Suvankar Roy of Alipurdwar in West Bengal, railways said, adding that the youth jumped from the train after the derailment and died.
The railways authorities were waiting for the postmortem report to ascertain the exact cause of the death, an official said.
The East Coast Railways said one female passenger suffered grievous injury and two other male passengers are being treated for simple injury.
The train was heading to Kamakhya station in Assam's Guwahati from Bengaluru and the accident happened on the down line of the Howrah-Chennai route, affecting train services, officials said.
While mail express trains are running in the Howrah-Visakhapatnam up line, as many as 21 down line trains were diverted.
Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma posted on X, "Sharing an update on the incident involving Train 12551. There are no casualties from Assam. 2 persons from the state - Willson Digal of Udalguri and Amiran Nisha of Baksa - are injured and undergoing treatment. Both are out of danger."
