One killed, 30 injured in Tripura CPI-M, BJP clash

A senior police official said that around 20 people were admitted in a hospital. The clashes took place at Charilam in western Tripura’s Sepahijala district.

The CPI-M in a statement alleged that the BJP workers attacked their leaders and members when they tried to reopen one of their party offices at Charilam.
A CPI-M cadre was killed and around 30 supporters of CPI-M and BJP were injured in a clashes between the two parties in Tripura.

A senior police official said that around 20 people were admitted in a hospital. The clashes took place at Charilam in western Tripura’s Sepahijala district.

Sahid Mia succumbed to his injuries at hospital.


The CPI-M in a statement alleged that the BJP workers attacked their leaders and members when they tried to reopen one of their party offices at Charilam.

The injured party leaders include former Finance and Information Minister Bhanu Lal Saha and district leader Pradesh Roy.

BJP denying the allegations stated CPI-M workers attacked party's rally injuring 15 people.

BJP spokesman Nabendu Bhattacharjee said opposition parties including CPI-M is trying to create law and order problem. Tripura is going to polls early next year.
