One worker died and several others were injured after a furnace explosion triggered a fire at a manufacturing facility run ‌by Jain ⁠Resource ⁠Recycling in India's Tamil Nadu state, the company said on Tuesday.

The ​firm said it is evaluating the extent of the ​damage caused by ⁠the fire ‌and has temporarily ​suspended ​operations in the ⁠affected section.

Jain Resource Recycling manufactures non-ferrous metal products, converting scrap materials such as copper, aluminum and lead into raw materials used in the automotive, electrical and construction ‌industries, according to its LinkedIn page.


Its customers include Vedanta's Sterlite ⁠Copper and Luminous Power Technologies, as well as overseas clients such as Mitsubishi Corporation RtM Japan and Nissan Trading Co.
