One day of rain got you down? Bengaluru's forecast promises a week of nonstop wet weather

Bengaluru is set for a rainy week as the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast extended rainfall for the city. The IMD's predictions indicate that light rain will continue in Bengaluru through Thursday, with heavier downpours expected on Friday and Saturday.

Today, August 12, 2024, Bengaluru's temperature is 26.05 °C, with a minimum of 21 °C and a maximum of 30 °C. The city’s relative humidity stands at 82%, and winds are blowing at 66 km/h. The sun rose at 06:07 AM and will set at 06:42 PM.

The IMD’s forecast also includes isolated heavy rain and thundershowers expected in the Ramanagara and Chamarajanagar districts. Moderate rain is likely across Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Mysuru, Mandya, and Kolar districts, with lighter rain forecasted for the remaining areas of South Interior Karnataka. In contrast, North Interior Karnataka is expected to experience mostly dry weather with isolated light rain.

Residents of Bengaluru should be prepared for the wet conditions by carrying umbrellas and sunscreen to handle the mix of rain and occasional sunshine.

In terms of air quality, Bengaluru is currently experiencing a good AQI of 35, with PM2.5 levels remaining below WHO guidelines. However, some areas such as Bapuji Nagar, BTM, the city railway station, and Peenya have reported lower air quality compared to the rest of the city.
