Northeast rail: Vaishnaw flags off Sairang-Silchar train; Guwahati station upgrades with Graham pods

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has flagged off the new Sairang–Silchar passenger train, strengthening connectivity between Mizoram and Assam. The service runs on the newly completed Bairabi–Sairang rail link, a key infrastructure project aimed at integrating Mizoram into India’s railway network. This milestone is being called a game changer for economic, educational, and medical access in the region.
