To press for various demands, a 48-hour petrol pump bandh is called by Northeast India Petroleum dealers association (Greater Guwahati).

Petroleum association of Northeast India petroleum dealers’ association (Greater Guwahati) is calling for a 48-hour bandh in Assam's three districts of Kamrup Metro, Kamrup and Morigaon from Saturday.

The leader of the association said that this bandh will continue from 5 am tomorrow till 5 am on March 3. Northeast India Petroleum Dealer Associations president Rajiv Goswami said that,


“We have chosen Saturday and Sunday for the bandh to avoid any inconvenience in the elections.” “If you don’t want to stop, DC should take undertaking from the oil companies and give it to us.”

“These three oil companies are alleged to have made the rules with complete irregularities.” The three oil companies are-Indian oil, HPCL, BPCL On February 3, the Northeast India petroleum dealers’ association (Greater Guwahati) sent a letter with several demands to the oil companies.

“We didn't get a reply to a single letter.” “Our investment is increasing. We are facing losses.” “Digital payment systems have been allowed to be shut down. We are forced to sell premium petrol.

We are opposed to this Objection to irregular deduction of money from safe account. So, we are going on a 48-hour bandh as part of our protest against the rejection of these demands." He added the commission should be increased.
