Non-bailable warrant issued against former Mumbai Police Chief for extortion

In connection with extortion cases issued against him, a non- bailable warrant has been issued against former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh.

There have been five FIRs registered against the former Commissioner. Two of those cases are of extortion, which were filed by the Mumbai Police.

Last month, a non-bailable warrant was issued against him, in connection with one of the extortion cases. Prior that, on October 26, a magistrate court in Thane had issued the first non-bailable warrant against Singh in another alleged extortion case concerning businessman Vinay Singh and gangster Riyaz Bhatti.
