Night curfew in Bengaluru: Ecommerce, other home delivery permitted

Karnataka has allowed e-commerce and other home delivery services during the night curfew in Bengaluru and six other cities which will take effect on Saturday.

Goods transport and other vehicles providing supplies of essential items, however, can ply.

The government will strictly enforce curfew from 10 pm to 5 am up to April 10 in order to stem the increase in Covid-19 cases. The government has prohibited all commercial activities except those specifically exempted.


Chief Secretary P Ravi Kumar, in a notification, listed out the services that are exempt from the night curfew.
Industries and companies which have to work at night will continue to work, but their employees should report to work before the curfew hours.

The government has allowed medical services and other essential activities. People suffering from health issues and their assistants can visit hospitals.

People who have booked tickets to travel by bus, train and flights can also commute during the night hours by auto and cab. They should, however, carry their tickets as proof.

The night curfew will be in force in Bengaluru City, Mysuru, Kalaburgi Udupi-Manipal, Bidar, Mangaluru and Tumakuru.
