Night curfew imposed in Haryana amid surge in COVID-19 cases

On Sunday, Haryana had reported 16 COVID-19 fatalities taking the death toll to 3,268. The total coronavirus case count rose to 3,16,881 with a record spike of 3,440 cases on Sunday, according to a health department bulletin.

As per the order, the movement of all non-essential personnel and vehicles will be banned in the state between 9 PM and 5 AM.
In view of recent surge in the number of coronavirus cases in the state, the Haryana government has announced night curfew from 9 pm till 5 am, with effect from tonight. The number of active cases in Haryana has doubled in the last 11 days, from 10,300 on April 1 to over 20,000 on April 11.

No person shall leave their home or shall move on foot or by vehicle or travel or stand or roam around on any road or public place between 9 PM and 5 AM, the government order said . As per the order, the movement of all non-essential personnel and vehicles will be banned in the state between 9 PM and 5 AM.

Those employed with media, health, electricity or fire department are also allowed to go out during the night to discharge their duties. Pregnant women and people with medical conditions will also be allowed to go to hospitals or medical centres.
