The National Investigation Agency carried out raids at multiple locations across Jammu and Kashmir in connection with the militant conspiracy case.

The NIA raids were conducted at 12 locations in Rajouri and Poonch district of Jammu division and Anantnag, Pulwama and Srinagar districts of Kashmir Valley.

The raids were conducted over a week after the militant attack in Poonch on April 20 where five army personnel were killed and another injured.

The officials informed that the case was registered in 2022 to investigate the criminal conspiracy for carrying out militant and subversive activities allegedly hatched by the cadres and over ground workers of various proscribed organisations and their affiliates and off-shoots, operating under various pseudo names, at the behest of their handlers in Pakistan. The officials suspect that they are involved in carrying out attacks by exploiting the cyber space in J&K, targeting of minorities, security personnel and spreading communal disharmony.
