NIA arrests Karnataka BJP member's murder accused

The National Investigation Agency has arrested a wanted criminal in connection with the murder of Karnataka BJP Yuva Morcha member Praveen Nettaru.

The accused identified as Taufil MH was arrested on Saturday night in Bengaluru. Nettaru was allegedly killed by the members of the now banned PFI. In January, NIA filed a charge sheet against 20 accused in the case before a special court in Bengaluru.

Nettaru was murdered on July 26 last year in Bellare village in Karnataka's Dakshina Kannada district "with the intention to strike terror in the society and create fear among the people", the agency had said.
