Nepali woman leaves husband, kids to marry Bihar guy; Visits Darbhanga to find he was already married

Nepalese women, Sangeeta Kumari (29), was not as fortunate as Pakistani woman Seema Haider. The woman, who abandoned her husband and two children to marry a Darbhanga guy in Bihar, faced the biggest setback of her life when she discovered he was already married and had a child. The horrified woman has filed a report with the local police.

Sangeeta Kumari, 29, met Govind Kumar, 32, while he worked for a financial company in Raxaul and married him two years ago in a temple in Nepal after leaving her chronically ill husband and two children. They were living near the border. But things took a surprising turn when Govind was transferred to Samastipur town for work. He assured Sangeeta that they would soon reunite, but unfortunately, Govind nevere returned to take her home.

Sangeeta shared her emotional journey, recounting, "He never came back and started ignoring my phone calls. Ultimately, I got his home address after reaching the bank and requesting the officials." Armed with this information, Sangeeta made her way to Govind's residence in Darbhanga, only to be confronted by the harsh reality – Govind was living with another wife, Prerna Kumari.


The revelation left both Sangeeta and Prerna feeling cheated. The two women approached the Women’s police station in Darbhanga to narrate the incident.

Prerna, speaking through a video message, expressed her anguish, "I revolted against my family to enter into love marriage but he has married another woman. Where will I go with my two-year-old daughter now?"

Women’s police station incharge, Nusrat Jehan, told TOI, "They narrated their troubles before us but have not filed any written complaint so far. We are aware of the matter and will act once receiving the complaint." Meanwhile, finding himself in a precarious position, Govind has vanished from his home.
