Born in 1948: The inspirational story of NCC
H.N. Kunzru headed a committee that envisioned youth training at a national scale. The National Cadet Corps Act passed on April 16, 1948; official operations began July 15, 1948. Brigadier M.L. Rawat, fondly called NCC's father, shaped its ethos. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Defence Minister then, blessed the endeavour with this title for Rawat.
