NCB seizes more than 2,000 kgs of ganja in Guwahati
Narcotics Control Bureau's zonal unit Guwahati has seized more than 2,000 kilograms of ganja. They have also arrested a resident of Rajasthan in connection with the same. NCB's investigation showed that the ganja was sourced from Agartala.

“One truck, as confirmed by intelligence, was coming from Jorabat side of Meghalaya towards Khanapara (Guwahati). NCB Guwahati Zonal Unit team intercepted the truck which led to a seizure of 2,126.660 kg ganja along with the truck. Subsequently, one person, namely, Parma Ram Bishnoi, a resident of Bikaner district in Rajasthan was also arrested,” NCB stated.
It added, “Some of the seized ganja was concealed inside a specially made cavity between the cabin and dala (carriage) of the seized truck and some of them were recovered from the carriage which was concealed by numerous brown coloured boxes of rubber thread."
The preliminary investigation revealed that the seized Ganja was sourced from Agartala (Tripura) and was destined to Coochbehar, West Bengal and further to Bihar.
"All efforts are being made by the NCB Guwahati Zonal Unit to unearth the roots and linkages of this trafficking network, identify the suppliers, receivers, financers and bust it subsequently,” the NCB said.
