The Chief Minister of Nagaland during his visit to the affected sites by Disaster in Mon district on the 20th of July 2026 has also extended Rs. 10 Lakhs for the Civil Societies, District Hospital and Local Volunteers, who are supporting the efforts of the Government in the search and rescue operation of the several landslides which devasted the district.
The extreme weather event claimed nine (9) precious lives, left several persons injured, and caused widespread destruction to residential houses, roads, bridges and other public infrastructure across the district.
Expressing profound grief over the tragic loss of lives, the Deputy Commissioner conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and assured that the District Administration stands firmly with every affected family during this difficult period.
The District Administration, in close coordination with NSDMA, , District Police, SDRF, 42 Assam Rifles, Territorial Army, Line departments, Village & Ward Councils, Konyak Union, KNSK, KSU and local community volunteers, continues to undertake search and rescue operations, damage assessment, distribution of relief materials and restoration of essential services in the affected areas.
The Deputy Commissioner acknowledged the tireless efforts of all departments, security forces, volunteers and local communities for their swift response and unwavering support during the emergency.
In view of the continuing monsoon, the public has been advised to remain vigilant, avoid landslide-prone slopes, overflowing rivers and vulnerable roads, and strictly adhere to weather advisories and instructions issued by the District Administration.
The District Administration remains committed to ensuring timely relief, rehabilitation and restoration for all affected communities and will continue to closely monitor the situation.
