A Myanmar national was arrested in Mizoram and heroin worth Rs 2.06 crore was recovered from him. Assam Rifles sources said that the para-military troopers along with Excise and Narcotics Department officials had conducted a joint operation at Tlangsam area in the Champhai district on Friday night.

During the operation, 295.2 gm of heroin grade four was recovered from the possession of Ensawmmanga, resident of Myanmar’s Bulfek region. The Myanmar national confessed to the security officials that the drugs he would hand over to an Indian drug peddler.

Police looking for the Indian drugs trader. The Myanmar national and the seized drugs were handed over to the Excise and Narcotics Department for further legal proceedings.
