After the Mundra drug bust, Adani Ports say they will not handle cargo from Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan from November 15 onwards.

After the Mundra drug bust, Adani Ports said they will not handle EXIM containerised cargo from Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan from November 15 onwards.

The trade advisory will be applicable to all terminals operated by APSEZ and including third party terminals at any APSEZ port till further notice, the company added.

In September this year, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) seized 2,988.21 kg of heroin from two containers at the Mundra port of Gujarat. Disguised as ‘semi-processed talc stones’, the consignment was imported by M/S Aashi Trading Company.

So far, eight individuals have been arrested in connection with this case, including four Afghans, one Uzbek and three 3 Indian nationals.
