IMD’s Colaba observatory recorded 882.6 mm rainfall and Santacruz 988.8 mm during the week, higher than the annual average rainfall of Delhi and Pune and almost matching Bengaluru's yearly total rainfall.
For perspective, Delhi receives about 774 mm of rain in an entire year, but Colaba got 113% of that total in just seven days. The week's rainfall also surpassed Pune's annual average of 720 mm and came close to Bengaluru's yearly average of 986 mm.
The most severe rainfall occurred on July 4, with Colaba receiving 265.6 mm and Santacruz 227.7 mm in 24 hours, becoming one of the wettest July days in recent years for the city.

Bhide dismissed media reports on waterlogging outside actor Amitabh Bachchan's house, saying civic administration did come across them.
"We were monitoring these locations live through the disaster control room, and the reports did not match the real-time conditions at the site," she said.

The rain intensity, however, weakened on Tuesday and the IMD has changed its warning for the city from orange alert to yellow.
The rainfall between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm in Colaba was 0.7 mm, and in Santacruz, it was 6.1 mm. Moderate rain is expected to continue over the next few days.
