The IMD has also issued a weather warning for the state which is likely to get gusty winds and hailstorm on Saturday as well.
The forecast predicts isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40-50 km/h.
Along with the rainfall, the weather agency has forecast a gradual rise in maximum temperatures by 3-4°C across Maharashtra over the next seven days.
India Rains: Other states to see relief
Apart from Mumbai and Maharashtra, several other regions across India are also bracing for rain and thunderstorms. The IMD has forecasted isolated to scattered rainfall over Odisha, Northeast India, and parts of South Peninsular India from April 4th to 6th.
Moreover, the IMD has forecasted isolated hailstorms over Jharkhand on April 4th, Assam and Meghalaya on April 5th, and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on April 6th.
In the South, heavy rainfall is also expected at isolated places, with Kerala and Mahe likely to see heavy showers between April 4th and 6th. Tamil Nadu and South Interior Karnataka will experience also similar weather on April 4th and 5th.
Additionally, the Andaman & Nicobar Islands are expected to receive heavy rainfall on April 4th and 6th. These regions should be prepared for potential disruptions due to the stormy conditions, including temporary power outages and travel delays.
