Mumbai, Pune get IMD warning for more rains in next 7 days. Check day-wise weather forecast

Mumbai and its suburbs experienced heavy rain causing waterlogging. Traffic diversions occurred near Kurla's Sheetal Cinema, Aarey-Goregaon, and Andheri subway. Rail services were unaffected. IMD forecasts more rain for Mumbai and Pune.

Mumbai and its suburbs received heavy rains in past 12 hours leading to water-logging in many parts of the city.
Mumbai and its suburbs experienced intermittent heavy rainfall on Saturday, causing waterlogging in several areas. However, local train services continued to operate normally, according to the latest updates from Western Railway and Central Railway. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Mumbai received 91 mm of rainfall in the 24-hour period ending at 8 AM on Saturday, while its eastern and western suburbs recorded 87 mm and 93 mm of rainfall, respectively. The IMD has predicted moderate to heavy rainfall for Mumbai and Pune y in the coming days.

Waterlogging and Mumbai Traffic Diversions


Heavy rainfall led to waterlogging in various parts of Mumbai. Due to water accumulation, traffic near Sheetal Cinema and Kale Marg in Kurla was diverted. Similarly, traffic on the Aarey route in Goregaon East was redirected via Seepz-Marol Maroshi-JVLR in both directions, as per Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials. Additionally, the Andheri subway was temporarily closed to vehicles because of waterlogging, with traffic being diverted to S V Road, according to a traffic police official.

Heavy Rainfall and Alerts in Vidarbha Region

The IMD has predicted heavy rainfall with the possibility of extremely heavy showers in Nagpur and other districts of the Vidarbha region over the next two days. A red alert has been issued for Chandrapur, and an orange alert for Nagpur, Amravati, and Wardha districts for Saturday. Nagpur, which has been experiencing heavy showers since Friday, recorded 90.6 mm of rainfall at the Nagpur airport observatory in the 24-hour period ending at 8:30 AM on Saturday.
