In a distressing situation, a 28-year-old Mumbai resident, grappling with unemployment for the past six months and the legal troubles faced by his mother, sought answers online about the best way to end his life. As per a TOI report, the international policing organization Interpol, which monitors online activities, promptly alerted the Mumbai police. Acting swiftly, the crime branch located the individual within two hours and provided crucial counseling.

Interpol's email alert reached the Mumbai police on a Tuesday afternoon, accompanied by a mobile number linked to the distressing online searches. A team under the supervision of joint CP (crime) Lakhmi Gautam and including senior PI Vinayak Chavan, swiftly gathered technical intelligence about the mobile number, pinpointing the individual to a rented room in Malvani, Malad.

"Within two hours, our team located the individual and brought him to the crime branch unit office. During the inquiry into his internet searches on 'suicide best way,' he revealed that he was distressed. He shared that his mother had been held in connection with a criminal case two years ago, and she had been in custody since. Financial constraints had made it difficult for him to secure her bail," a crime branch officer told TOI.

The individual disclosed his origins in Rajasthan and his relocation to Mumbai three years ago. After successfully completing his junior college exams, he pursued a diploma in computers. "He mentioned securing a job at a real estate office in Mira Road after his studies. However, six months ago, he lost this job. Despite numerous attempts, he struggled to secure another job, causing mounting financial stress and precipitating thoughts of self-harm over the last two days," the officer added.
