Commuters have taken to social media to complain about delays in running of Mumbai local trains
Mumbai's suburban train network has been plagued by delays, significantly inconveniencing commuters. The Sr DOM Coaching, Mumbai-CR, has issued a public apology to the passengers affected. The main reason attributed for these delays is the bunching of trains, which happens when multiple trains run too close together, leading to slower overall movement and longer wait times. Additionally, the suburban tracks are shared with express trains, which further contributes to the delays.

In an update, the Sr DOM Coaching, Mumbai-CR, stated, "We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the delay in our local trains in Mumbai. We understand the frustration and inconvenience this may have caused to your travel plans. The delay is due to the bunching of trains, along with some express trains sharing the tracks."

Western Railways reported deploying high-power pumps in certain areas to clear water from the tracks. A tweet earlier today mentioned that trains on the Virar-Dahanu section are running 20-25 minutes late, while those on the Harbour Line are operating normally.

Heavy rains lash Thane and Palghar district

Heavy rains have battered Maharashtra's Thane and neighboring Palghar districts overnight, leading authorities to issue a 'red alert' for Palghar on Thursday morning, predicting very heavy showers, according to officials. The flooding of the Surya river in Palghar submerged a bridge in Manor, affecting movement between Wada and Manor, as stated by district disaster management cell chief Vivekanand Kadam. The situation was worsened by high tide.
