The BMC is also trying to dissuade the public from going to malls, shopping complexes and other crowded public locations by threatening to make it mandatory for them to have RT-PCR negative test reports before entry. If not, they would have to take an antigen test at their own cost. The list of crowded locations will be released by the BMC in due course. The proposed rule is likely to be in force by next week.
Besides, BMC has formulated a plan where antigen tests would be administered at crowded locations.
According to state government sources, approval has been sought from the Centre to allow vaccinations to all above the age of 45.
Meanwhile, the state has imposed more curbs. Auditoriums and theatres will function at 50% of capacity. All private organisations, except manufacturing units, are to function at 50% capacity till March 31.
