The government on Tuesday announced that the Monsoon Session of Parliament will be convened from July 21 to August 21, 2025.

In an official notification, the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs confirmed that there will be no sittings on August 13 and 14 to allow for preparations and security arrangements ahead of the Independence Day celebrations on August 15.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said the President Droupadi Murmu has approved the proposal to summon both Houses of Parliament during this period.

"The Hon’ble President of India has approved the proposal of the Government to convene the Monsoon Session of Parliament from 21st July to 21st August, 2025. In view of the Independence Day celebrations, there will be no sittings on the 13th and 14th of August," he wrote in a post on social media platform X.

The session is expected to see intense debates over key legislative and political issues, including the fallout from Operation Sindoor and the Delhi High Court judge cash seizure case that have ruffled national and international feathers.
