Due to continuous rain, the met department has issued orange and yellow alerts for several parts of the state.
The alerts are valid till Friday morning.
Orange alerts are issued for isolated places in districts of Jabalpur and Shahdol divisions, where heavy rain, thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds at the speed of 30 to 40 KMPH are expected. Similar forecasts are also released for six districts, including Betul and Khandwa.
A yellow alert of thunderstorms with lightning and wind gusts at the speed of 30 to 40 KMPH are issued for isolated places in Bhopal, Sagar and Gwalior and two other divisions. Nine districts including Indore are also likely to witness similar weather conditions, the IMD forecasted.
