Money laundering probe: Three top fashion designers summoned by Enforcement Directorate

As per available information transactions worth lakhs of rupees between the Congress MLA and the fashion designers are under the scanner. The three fashion designers have been asked to appear before the agency in its New Delhi office.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued summons to three top fashion designers namely Ritu Kumar, Manish Malhotra and Sabyasachi Mukherjee in connection with its ongoing money laundering probe against a Punjab based Congress leader, said people in the know.

As per available information transactions worth lakhs of rupees between the Congress MLA and the fashion designers are under the scanner. The three fashion designers have been asked to appear before the agency in its New Delhi office.

In March this year, the ED sleuths had raided the premises of the Congress MLA who was previously with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). The raids were carried out on the premises of the Congress MLA at his Chandigarh residence.


The PMLA probe is related to alleged drugs trafficking and a fake passport case. Few accused involved in the case are lodged in jail. The federal agency had lodged a case on the basis of an FIR registered by the Punjab Police.
