"Mom is fit and fine": Virat Kohli's brother clears rumours about his mother's health

Vikas Kohli, the brother of cricket star Virat Kohli, has cleared rumors regarding the health of their mother, Saroj Kohli. Taking to his official Instagram handle, Vikas stated, "Hello everyone, I have noticed that there is this fake news about our mom's health has been circulating around. Let me clear that our mom is absolutely fit and fine." He went on to request both the public and the media not to spread unverified information.

Recently, speculations surfaced suggesting that Virat Kohli, the former India skipper, had opted out of the first two Test matches against England in the ongoing series due to his mother's alleged illness. Responding to this, Vikas emphasized the importance of reliable information. Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officially confirmed Kohli's withdrawal from the first two Tests due to personal reasons.

The BCCI, in an official statement, urged both the media and fans to respect Kohli's privacy during this challenging time and refrained from speculating on the nature of his personal reasons. In the absence of Kohli, India faced a 28-run loss against England in the first Test match held in Hyderabad on Sunday.


Recapping the initial Test, India, after dominating the game for the most part, faced a turnaround on Day 3.
