The projects were started during the BJP government and have been completed in a time-bound manner. Modi would also address the people in a rally after the inauguration.
"Under the Modi government, the projects are not only announced but completed in a time bound manner," Vivek Thakur, BJP co-incharge looking after the Purvanchal, told ET.
Gorakhpur Unit of Fertilizer Corporation of India Limited (FCIL) was set up in 1969 for urea production with naphtha as feedstock. The plant was closed in June 1990 due to continuing losses of FCIL, as running the plant became unviable.
During the 2014 election campaign, Modi had promised to restart the plant if he becomes PM. In 2016, he laid the foundation stone for revival of the plant. With an expenditure of around '8,600 cr, the plant is ready to start operation.
Apart from that, he would also dedicate a fully functional complex of AIIMS, Gorakhpur built at a cost of over '1,000 c.
In 2017, the BJP has won 23 of the 28 assembly constituencies in Gorakhpur division.
