Modi to attend four rallies in Karnataka in February

The rallies will be held in four different regions of the state - coastal Karnataka, Bengaluru, Mysuru and North Karnataka. The party is yet to finalise the details of the rallies, said the people.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to address four rallies in Karnataka in February as part of the BJP's campaign in the state which is set to go to the polls in three months, said people aware of the matter.

The rallies will be held in four different regions of the state - coastal Karnataka, Bengaluru, Mysuru and North Karnataka. The party is yet to finalise the details of the rallies, said the people.

On Thursday, PM Modi addressed a huge rally in Kalyana Karnataka region in Kalaburgi. He also distributed hakku patra (claim letters), giving title deeds to more than 50,000 families belonging to Banjara and Lambani community.


Other national leaders of the BJP are also visiting the state.

"On Saturday BJP president JP Nadda will start the nine-day 'Vijay Sankalp Abhiyan' which will be carried out in the entire state," Arun Singh, BJP general secretary in charge of Karnataka, told ET.

The party is aiming to add five million new members in the nine-day programme.

Union home minister Amit Shah will visit Karnataka for two days from January 28 and address public meetings in Belgaum and Bellary.

"Apart from national leaders, our state leadership of BS Yediyurappa, chief minister Basavaraj Bommai and state president Nalin Kumar Kateel is also attracting huge crowds in their meetings and they will aggressively campaign for the party," said Singh.
