Gujarat deluge: Cities reel under heavy downpour, flash floods; even IAF rescue helicopters grounded
Gujarat is struggling with heavy rains causing severe flooding, leading to criticisms from Congress about the 'Gujarat Model' touted by PM Modi and the BJP government. Congress shared a video on social media of a flooded city and a house-like structure being swept away by floodwaters, mocking the situation. Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi have expressed concerns and called for urgent government action.

On social media platform X, Congress posted a video showing the extent of flooding in Gujarat with the message, "Modi ka tairta hua Gujarat model," and a caption saying, "Aa jaaye...Modi nu Gujarat model."

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, voiced their worries about the floods in Gujarat. They both urged the government to take all essential measures to address the natural disaster's impact.

In a post on X, Kharge stressed the seriousness of the situation, offering condolences to affected families and underscoring the dire need for food and medical help.

Kharge’s post on X read, "We are deeply saddened by the situation in Gujarat. Our thoughts are with the families who have lost loved ones. The situation demands urgent food and medical assistance for those affected."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi contacted Gujarat's Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel to assess the situation and offer central support in managing the crisis.

Rahul Gandhi expressed his deepest condolences in a post on X. He urged Congress workers to assist affected people and the administration in relief and rescue operations.

"My deepest condolences to the families who have lost loved ones and whose property has been damaged. I call on all Congress workers to provide assistance to the affected people and the administration in relief and rescue efforts," Rahul Gandhi stated.
