Guwahati: Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal announced Kaling Moyong as the new Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president for Arunachal Pradesh during the party’s organizational meeting.

“Moyong’s dedication and hard work will strengthen the BJP in Arunachal Pradesh. Under the leadership of National President J.P. Nadda, Moyong will play a pivotal role in expanding the party’s influence and capabilities in the state,” Sonowal said while congratulating the new president.

Sonowal also named Yalem Taga Burang, Tagin Siga, and Kamrang Tesiya as Arunachal Pradesh’s representatives to the BJP National Council. Sonowal emphasized their responsibility in supporting the BJP’s mission of advancing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a prosperous, self-reliant India.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, and BJP state in-charge Ashok Singhal were among the prominent attendees at the meeting.

In his address, Sonowal reflected on the growth in infrastructure and connectivity in Arunachal Pradesh and the Northeast over the past decade. “In the last 10 years, Arunachal Pradesh and the Northeast have experienced unprecedented development. Delhi has come closer to the Northeast,” he said.

Sonowal described the BJP as the only party dedicated to inclusive development, equality, and prosperity for all. “Under the strong leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the BJP-led NDA government has delivered a decade of transformative governance, turning dreams into reality. Unlike previous regimes plagued by corruption and mismanagement, we have built a strong and thriving India recognized globally,” he said.

Sonowal urged BJP workers to actively contribute to strengthening the party’s organizational efforts in Arunachal Pradesh and highlighted the government’s significant investments in the Northeast. “In the last decade, Rs 5 lakh crore has been invested in the region, marking a historic commitment to its growth,” Sonowal said.

Sonowal concluded by emphasizing the BJP’s commitment to its “Nation First” philosophy. “Our party is dedicated to building a strong, self-reliant, and prosperous India. Together, we must align with Prime Minister Modi’s vision to make India one of the world’s top three economies,” he said.
