Modern police admin building near Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya nears completion

The construction of a modern administrative building and control room has been almost completed on 12,000 square feet of the police department land directly outside the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra in Uttar Pradesh’ Ayodhya. This is a significant step, taken by the Uttar Pradesh government, to ensure a proper security of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

According to a press release, the building was constructed at a cost of Rs 1,128.75 lakh (128.75 lakh rupees). The project was spearheaded by the state’ home department. The construction of a modern control room and administrative building in Ayodhya began in December 2023 through the construction firm C&DS.

The release said the main control room will be in the basement of this G+1-story building. “This control room will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology, enabling real-time monitoring of CCTV footage, crowd management, traffic control, and emergency services,” the release further mentioned.


The building, located adjacent to the Ved Mandir, has been equipped with several modern amenities as part of internal site development. These include a CC road (cement concrete road), a rainwater harvesting system, an external sewerage system, air-conditioning, boring with a submersible pump, a high-speed elevator, full electrification, a strong boundary wall, a MS gate, and a 160 kVA diesel generator set. All these features make the building environmentally friendly, energy-efficient, and self-sufficient in emergencies.

In the release, Devvrat Pawar, project manager of the executing agency, said that 98 percent of the work has been completed. He added work on the boundary wall is in progress and the building is ready for inauguration soon.

Following the inauguration, it will be fully operational. “This new building will be exclusively operated by the police department and will be able to keep a close eye on all activities around the Ram Janmabhoomi complex,” the release made it clear.
