Mizoram Excise and Narcotics Minister Beichhua resigns

The minister submitted his resignation letter to Chief Minister Zoramthanga. Beichhua is MLA from south Mizoram's Siaha constituency.

Fuelling speculations of reshuffle, Mizoram Minister of State for Excise and Narcotics K Beichhua resigned from the Zoramthanga Ministry.

The minister submitted his resignation letter to Chief Minister Zoramthanga. Beichhua is MLA from south Mizoram's Siaha constituency.

Beichhua told media persons that he was asked by Zoramthanga to resign to pave the way for reshuffling the Cabinet. Zoramthanga is president of ruling Mizo National Front (MNF).


He said, "I received a letter from the Chief Minister on Monday asking me to resign from my post. He said he wants to reshuffle the Cabinet."

He said that he will continue as MLA and will remain in the party for now.
