Mistakenly used incorrect word: Cong leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury to Prez Droupadi Murmu

"I am writing to express my regret for having mistakenly used an incorrect word to describe the position you hold. I assure you that it was a slip of the tongue. I apologise and request you to accept the same," the Congress leader said in his letter.

Union minister Smriti Irani demanded an apology from the Congress party, after accusing them of "demeaning" President Droupadi Murmu and her office. She alleged that the Congress has malicious intent and has been targeting Murmu ever since her nomination as a Presidential candidate by the BJP-led NDA.
While talking to reporters during their protest at Vijay chowk on Wednesday, Chowdhury had used the word 'rashtrapatni" for President Murmu, sparking the controversy.
