Military chopper carrying five Army personnel crashes in Arunachal Pradesh, four bodies recovered

The place is located 25 kms away from the Tuting headquarters in the Upper Siang district. There were five people on board, four bodies have been recovered from the crash site. The incident took place at 10.43 am on Friday.
Arunachal chief minister, Pema Khandu tweeted, “Shocked to hear about the news of @adgpi Advanced Light Combat Helicopter crash near Tuting area in Upper Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh. The State Government has rushed the rescue team to the accident site and provided all assistance”. Defence sources said that the helicopter, carrying Army personnel, was on regular sorties.
Upper Siang Superintendent of Police Jummar Basar said the place where the incident took place is a mountainous region. " It will take some time to reach the site."
"Received very disturbing news about the Indian Army's Advanced Light Helicopter crash in Upper Siang District in Arunachal Pradesh. My deepest prayers," Union Minister of Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju said in a tweet.
On October 5 this year, a pilot was killed and another injured when an Army Aviation Cheetah helicopter flying in Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh crashed.
In 2019, almost after 17 days Indian Air Force (IAF) had managed to recover all 13 bodies that died in an AN-32 in Arunachal Pradesh.
On June 3, AN 32 aircraft started from Jorhat in Assam and was bound for Mechuka in Arunachal Pradesh when it went missing. Six bodies and remains of seven others were recovered from the site.
Mi-17 helicopter located the wreckage of missing aircraft on June 11. In 2011 former Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu died in a chopper crash.
