‘Milestone for ties’: China hails resumption of direct flights with India after five years

After a five-year hiatus, direct flights between Kolkata and China’s Guangzhou have resumed, signalling renewed India-China connectivity. Chinese Deputy Consul General Qin Yong called it a ‘very important day’ for bilateral relations, marking normalisation and progress in diplomatic ties. Speaking at a brief ceremony in Kolkata, Qin highlighted the flight’s resumption as a positive step toward strengthening trade, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges between the two nations.
