The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has launched the sale of 18,920 affordable homes starting today in Pune and the Konkan Region, which includes parts of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). These homes are priced between Rs 12 lakh and Rs 1.11 crore, catering to various income groups.

MHADA Affordable Housing Details

The most expensive apartment offered under this initiative is in Pimpri, priced at Rs 1.11 crore, while the cheapest is located in Urse near Lonavala, costing Rs 12 lakh. The Rs 1.11 crore apartment, categorized for the Higher Income Group (HIG), has an area of approximately 700 square feet. In contrast, the Rs 12 lakh apartment, designated for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), measures about 300 square feet. In addition to the housing units, MHADA is also selling 117 plots in the Konkan region.

Locations of Affordable Homes

In the Konkan region, the available affordable housing units are located near Mumbai in Thane, Kalyan, Titwala, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg, including Vengurla and Malvan. In Pune, apartments are available in Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Solapur, Kolhapur, and Sangli.


Application Timelines

Homebuyers interested in the affordable homes in the Konkan Region can submit applications for 1,439 apartments by December 10, 2024. The remaining 11,187 apartments will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. In Pune, applications can be submitted until November 12, 2024. The affordable housing units cater to various income groups, including EWS, Lower Income Group (LIG), Middle Income Group (MIG), and High Income Group (HIG).

MHADA Recent Lottery

On October 8, MHADA announced the winners of the lottery for affordable homes in Mumbai, revealing a total of 2,030 winners. The lottery for Mumbai was first announced in August 2024, attracting approximately 1.13 lakh applications.

To date, MHADA has successfully handed over possession of 30,000 affordable homes through nine lotteries across various cities in Maharashtra, including Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Nashik, Sambhaji Nagar, and Nagpur.
