Mehrauli murder: Polygraph test done, Aaftab confesses to killing Shraddha, disposing of body parts

Aaftab Amin Poonawala has confessed to murdering his live-in partner Shraddha Walkar. The confession came during his polygraph test conducted at the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), Rohini, Delhi.

His polygraph test was carried out over several sessions. It is worth mentioning here that polygraph test is not admissible in a court.

A narco analysis test will be started on Thursday, which will take about 3-4 days to complete.


Poonawala also reportedly confessed to dumping her body parts at several different places.

Some reports said that Aaftab confessed to being in relationship with several woman.

Poonawala allegedly killed Walkar in May and sawed her body into as many as 35 pieces. He kept the body parts in a fridge for weeks before disposing of them over several days in various different areas.

He was arrested on November 12.

During the subsequent investigation, police got in touch with a woman, a psychologist, who met Poonawala at his home after Walkar's murder. According to police sources, Poonawala had called her to his rented home in Mehrauli two times in October.

Poonawala had connected with the woman through a dating application, reports said.

The woman told the cops that she did not have any idea about the murder. Poonawala had behaved normally when she visited him, she said. She never saw him scared, police sources quoted her as saying.

The victim's body parts were still inside the fridge when the woman visited him, police said.

The accused reportedly gave the woman a ring that was once Shraddha Walkar's.

"Poonawala had a different variety of deodorants and he was a foodie, the psychologist reportedly told Delhi police.

According to the cops, Poonawala's new partner was shocked when she finally found out about the murder.
