As millions of devotees and tourists are expected to gather in Prayagraj for the Mauni Amavasya Snan at Mahakumbh 2025 on Wednesday, the Mela administration and police have swung into action to ensure safety measures and proper crowd management. The administration has urged the devotees to remain vigilant and steer clear of rumours. A dedicated team comprising Mela police, traffic police, and specialized doctors has been deployed around the clock to assist devotees in case of emergencies.

In a press release, Senior Superintendent of Police, Mahakumbhnagar, Rajesh Dwivedi, said proper arrangements have been made for the second Amrit Snan of Mahakumbh, especially for Mauni Amavasya.

He urged devotees to cooperate with the police, remain cautious, and seek assistance. The police and administration are available 24/7 to support the devotees at Mahakumbh, he further added.

Seeking cooperation from devotees in crowd management, the Mela administration has suggested they take different lanes to reach Sangam Ghat. The administration has also appealed to them to stay in their lane while going for a Ganga bath. The administration expected the devotees to go straight to the parking after bathing and darshan. “While going for darshan in temples, stay in your lane, and from there, leave for your destination. Take the help of the police if needed; the police are there to help you. Traffic police are also ready to help you,” the release mentioned.

According to the release, if anyone faces any health-related problem, he or she can get examined in the hospital built in the nearest sector. The administration also appealed to the devotees to show patience on the barricading and pontoon bridges and avoid hurrying and jostling. The administration has also underlined the need for using only paper, jute or eco-friendly utensils and Kulhar during their stay in Mela premises.

The administration has urged the devotees that they should not stop at one place together. “Do not believe any confusion spread on social media. Do not rush to visit temples. Do not stop on roads instead of holding areas, and do not create any obstruction. Avoid getting misled by anyone regarding arrangements or facilities,” the release said.
