Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara Officially Debuts in India
Maruti Suzuki has unveiled its first all-electric SUV, the e-Vitara, at an event in Gurugram. The model will be offered in both FWD and AWD variants and comes equipped with LFP battery packs that claim a range of up to 500 km. Featuring a premium, feature-rich cabin, the e-Vitara is positioned to rival the Hyundai Creta EV, Windsor EV Pro, Tata Curvv.ev, and Mahindra BE 6, aiming to provide a practical electric vehicle option for Indian households.

Sales to Begin in January 2026
The company has announced that e-Vitara sales will commence in January 2026, aligning with its launch in the Japanese market. Booking dates will be revealed soon. The SUV will also support a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) subscription model and include an assured buyback programme for improved customer confidence and flexibility.

The e-Vitara is built with a reinforced body frame that uses over 60% ultra-high-tensile and high-tensile steel. It also features an enhanced battery safety system with a specially engineered structural setup and an energy-absorbing mounting design for the battery pack.

Other Important Features
The e-Vitara is equipped with a comprehensive safety package that includes 7 standard airbags, including a driver’s knee airbag, along with ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, Hill Hold Control, all-wheel disc brakes, Electronic Stability Program (ESP®) with Active Cornering Control, and Multi-Collision Braking. It also features front seat belt pre-tensioners with force limiters, front seat belt height adjustment, 3-point ELR seat belts for all occupants, and seat-belt reminders with lamp and buzzer. For child safety, the SUV offers ISOFIX mounts, while parking and manoeuvring are supported by a 360-degree surround view camera, front and rear parking sensors, and a Tyre-Pressure Monitoring System (Highline). The colour palette includes Land Breeze Green, Opulent Red, Bluish Black, Grandeur Grey, Splendid Silver, Arctic White, and NEXA Blue. In the dual-tone lineup, Land Breeze Green, Opulent Red, Arctic White, and Splendid Silver come paired with a Bluish Black contrasting roof.
