The ethnic hostilities in the state that has so far killed 105 people and injured over 320.
A minister in Manipur outside his residence came up with a drop box, where those willingly can drop the snatched weapons. Manipur’s Consumers Affairs, Food and Public Distribution L Susindro has created the drop box and some weapons have been deposited there.

Security Forces are conducting Joint Combing Operations in Hills and Valley Sector of Manipur.

Meanwhile, during last 24 hours, 57 arms, 1,588 ammunition and 23 bombs have been recovered in Imphal East, Kakching, Tengnoupal and Bishnupur districts of Manipur. A total of 953 arms, 13,351 ammunitions and 223 bombs of different kinds have been recovered till date.


Following the violence that broke out on May 3 in 11 of the 16 districts during and after the 'Tribal Solidarity March' called by the All Tribal Students' Union of Manipur to oppose the demand for inclusion of the Meitei community in the Scheduled Tribe category, the Manipur government suspended the Internet to control the situation.
