Irate locals dismantle bunkers of security forces alleging lapses in security despite the presence of a large number of personnel in nearby areas after at least two persons were injured in two consecutive explosions, in Manipur's Bishnupur district.
Guwahati: At least two persons, including a woman, were injured in two explosions in Manipur's Bishnupur district on Monday. Following the explosion, a mob damaged a makeshift security bunker in the vicinity, accusing the security forces of failing to prevent the blasts and arrest those responsible for the incident.

A police official in Imphal said there were altogether three blasts, suspected to have been triggered by a locally made improvised explosive device (IED). These blasts took place in an abandoned house at Ngaukon village under the Phougakchao police station area. The residents of the abandoned house are living in a relief camp since ethnic violence broke out in Manipur in May 2023.

The two injured have been identified as Sanatomba Singh and Indubala Devi. Police said security forces have launched a combing operation to nab those responsible for the blasts.
