Guwahati: The Manipur Petroleum Dealers Fraternity (MPDF) has announced the closure of all petrol pumps in the state from Saturday onwards, citing security concerns.

The decision follows an incident on Thursday night when unknown miscreants hurled a bomb near a fuel station in Manipur's Bishnupur district. No injuries or damage were reported.

In a letter to Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, the MPDF said that despite steps taken by state authorities to improve security, fuel dealers continue to face serious threats. "We are still facing severe threats, as evidenced by the bomb blast on Thursday night," the letter said.
