Manipur launches statewide operations against armed militants

Guwahati: Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh said that operations against militants have started in Jiribam and this will cover the entire state wherever there are illegal armed militants.

The unified command had a meeting in Manipur which decided to have a new SOP for security forces. By the end of this month Manipur will have 288 companies of central forces.

Kuldiep Singh, security advisor to the state government, recently held the review meeting of the unified command in Imphal.
