Guwahati: Representatives of the Eastern Area Border Haat Demand Committee (Pilong, Kamjong District) called on Governor of Manipur and submitted a memorandum seeking the setting up of a Border Haat at Pilong, Kamjong District, near the Indo-Myanmar border.

The Committee highlighted the strategic and economic importance of Pilong, situated about 40 km from Kamjong District headquarters and close to the Myanmar border.

They pointed out that the location has long served as a traditional trading area for local communities and holds significant potential for enhancing cross-border trade and improving livelihoods in the region.


Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla gave a patient hearing to the delegation and informed that their concerns raised in the memorandum would be taken up with the appropriate authorities for further consideration.
