"Chaired a meeting with NDA MLAs at the secretariat today to deliberate on key governance issues, with a firm resolve for coordinated and decisive action to restore peace and security in the state. The government remains steadfast in safeguarding every citizen's welfare, ensuring peace, prosperity, and inclusive progress through people-centric governance," Singh stated on X.
Manipur police meanwhile arrested three people in connection with an attempt to cause arson in a shop in Kangpokpi district.
Manipur police stated on X, "Following investigation in an FIR case registered at Kangpokpi-PS related to an attempt to burn a tyre workshop at Daili village, Kangpokpi district earlier, Manipur police today arrested three miscreants who were involved in the crime: Mangminhao Lotjem, Satgoulal Sitlhou and Seigunlal Lhanghal."
On Friday, three people were killed and several others injured in a clash in Ukhrul district, following which security forces on Saturday intensified operations to apprehend those involved and prevent further trouble.
A police official in Imphal said security measures have been tightened in the area and operations were ongoing in the surrounding regions.
Ukhrul district, which shares an inter-state border with Nagaland and an international border with Myanmar, is predominantly inhabited by the Tangkhul Naga community.
According to police, a heavy exchange of fire took place in the Mullam village area under Litan police station on Friday, resulting in the deaths of three individuals. The deceased have been identified as Paominlun Haolai (22), Letlal Sitlhou (41), and Horshokmi Jamang (29).
