Manipur CM launches 477 Police vehicles under modernisation push amid ongoing challenges

Manipur CM Yumnam Khemchand Singh flagged off 477 newly procured vehicles for the Manipur Police in Imphal as part of the Centre’s police modernisation scheme. The new fleet, which includes bulletproof vehicles, is aimed at improving police mobility, response time, patrolling and law enforcement amid ongoing tensions in the state. Senior officials, including Konthoujam Govindas Singh and Rajiv Singh, said the initiative would strengthen policing capabilities across hill districts and sensitive areas while supporting broader modernisation efforts.
